Gauge:

• 3.5 rounds = 4” in pattern
• 4 rounds = 5” in pattern
• First 6 rounds = 13.5” diameter
• First 12 rounds = 28.5” diameter

I made the first version of this afghan with a 9mm hook and it came out too small (48” diameter). I made the second one with a 10mm hook and it came out too large (60” diameter). For this version I used a 9mm hook and made sure to crochet loosely and I got the right gauge (54” diameter).

Despite crocheting at the right gauge, I had to dip into a second ball of burgundy yarn.
