Notes

Gauge:

  • Before Washing: 2 pattern repeats = 3.5”, 6 rows = 3”
  • After Washing: 2 pattern repeats = 3.375”, 6.5 rows = 3”

My sweater measurements shifted after washing and drying:

  • The bust was supposed to be 35” but ended up 33.5”.
  • The sleeve upper arm was supposed to be 12” but ended up 11”.
  • The sleeve length was supposed to be 17.5” but ended up 18”.
  • The front neck depth was 2” before the SC edging and ended up 3.5”.
  • The length was supposed to be 25” but ended up 23.5”. I went back and added two rows to the bottom of the sweater for a finished length of 25”.

My gauge was larger than the pattern’s so I followed the instructions for the 33” bust with a few changes.

I skipped the final yoke increase round and worked it even instead. There are 30 pattern repeats instead of 34 pattern repeats after the yoke shaping. After joining there are 20 pattern repeats in the body and 7 repeats in the sleeves.

In order to end the yoke on Pattern Round 2, I added another round to the yoke so there are 14 rounds (per the 36” size) instead of 13 (per the 33” size) and the yoke depth is 8” instead of 7”.

Because I added an extra yoke round I started the joining round with the underarm chain instead of working across the back.

When working the second half of the beginning of round shells I chained one and joined with a slip stitch instead of joining with a single crochet.

I added 2” to the body for a finished length of 25” instead of 23”. The vents are 6.5” long instead of 4” long. I worked 21 rnds/10.5” even from underarm before splitting for the vents and I worked 14 rows/6.5” for the vents.

I used single crochet to finish the neck and sleeves instead of the rib called for in the pattern. I finished the sleeves with 1” (4 rounds) of single crochet and finished the neckline with 0.5” (2 rounds) of single crochet. I didn’t use a smaller hook for the sleeve edging but I did for the neck edging.

I crocheted the sleeves 16.5” long (before washing) before the single crochet edging and worked 1” of single crochet for an intended finished sleeve length of 17.5” instead of 17”. I added 2 taper repeats to decrease to 5 pattern repeats for the lower arm. I worked the first single crochet round per the Runaround pattern.

Sleeves: 14 rounds even, taper rounds 1-5, 8 rounds even, taper rounds 1-5, 1 round even, 4 rounds SC
