Unfortunately I made this hat too long/deep, and it slides down over my eyes. I am frogging/knitting a new Snowfall Hat.

124 stitches. Started with crocheted provisional cast-on of 62 st, knitted in the round the first three rows, then picked up every other st of the provisional stitches to get to 124.

Cast on on US 7, knitting on US 5.

One of two skeins of Caron Simply Soft Shadows received as a long-ago Christmas gift. Inexplicably, the navy-blue version is called Merino. 100% acrylic, 4-ply, one of which changes color. Very soft and somewhat splitty/snaggy.

The current plan is to space the snowy-tree graph evenly around the hat six times, adding 5 st to each repeat, and putting the extra 4 st of the 124 at quarter-intervals. I'll probably re-graph to add more snow in the 5-st columns so I don't have long runs of blue.

The new plan is to add 10 stitches to the repeat, 5 on each side, repeating the chart 5 times around and dropping the last column for the 5th repeat (25+25+25+25+24).

I placed my new white snow dots by printing a chart with gray boxes and using white hole-punch dots to decide where to put them.

I knit 2.5 inches of ribbing (18 rows) so I cast off early. Knitted one row of blue, then one row of white before starting the chart.

Yarn dominance, before I forget:
My least-used, dominant yarn (white) goes in the lower position.

In this yarn, I caught the floats on every third stitch. Catching the white float just before knitting a single white stitch helped keep them a more consistent size.
