Update:

02/09/09 - Francess wore the hat to school today and the flower did not look good at all. I asked if I could take the hat back to fix the flower. Aaaah, much better - and more secure. (How long do you think I can use M&Ms to bribe the boys into trying on girls’ hand knits?) :-) The only thing I wanted to change on this pattern was the seaming. It’s knit flat and then seamed. I tried it in the round first and it just didn’t look the same.

Looking at the pictures - next time I need to sew the flower on a little better. I don’t like how it looks when the hat is on the head and stretched out.

Thanks to MMmama for such great pattern notes. I followed her mods for the hat to a tee (made adj for the brim). Note - the hat does lose some of it’s elasticity after the brim is sewed on. That hat is a tad bit snug on Seamus and he has 20 inch head. I totally guessed at the seaming.

02/07/08 - Quick little birthday gift for a neighbor/school mate. Turned out pretty cute. I wonder how the brim will look.
