Even with all the issues with this pattern, I absolutely love these mittens! I think it might be more the yarn than the pattern. But they are the best fitting mittens I’ve ever knit. I may just have to make a pair for myself now.

This is a really fast knit, especially after finishing the thumb gusset.

PATTERN ISSUES: There are issues with the pattern which is really disappointing for a Jared Flood pattern. If you have just the book, some of it is difficult to decipher without having to go thru all the notes of other knitters who were kind enough to make notations. There is no errata on the Classic Elite nor the Brooklyn Tweed website for this pattern.

--k2tog-tbl - based on the notes of Ravelers, I am guessing that the individual version of this pattern has changed this abbreviation to “twisted k2tog”. And along with that where the abbreviation list reads, “…slip next st as if to k-tbl…” should read, “…as if to p-tbl….”

--Chart row 50 - slip first st to RH needle and begin working chart.

--Bind off the top of the mitt states to line up the sts so that they are “mirroring each other.” This is not possible because if you line up the centered double decrease on the front and back, the two centered double decreases on the sides will have to be one on the front needle and one on the back…otherwise there will be uneven number of sts on the two needles.

--THUMB: as others have said, the changing of the BOR is worked on Chart row 14 and 15, not 15 and 16.

PROJECT NOTES:
--Cuff - 14 rows
--Worked an extra mitt repeat: after Chart row 43, went back and worked Chart rows 38- 43, again, before working Chart rows 44 - 50.
--I added 3 rows to the thumb before working Chart row 14 & 15.
