Test knitting this for Anadiomena. Doing the following options:
--long sleeve
--gathered sleeves
--narrow panels, big buttons
11/05/10 - I found the most perfect buttons! The heart cable on the buttons matches the cable knot at the bottom of the cable pattern.
10/27/10 - She’s all done! I’m gonna have a hard time letting this one go even though I don’t have a little girl. I really love this! I started my buttonholes before I saw the update so they ended up a little big. I’m gonna try reinforcing them. And now just to find buttons!
10/25/10 - I’ve got one sleeve left! The gathered sleeves are really cute! I’m concerned that the arm holes might be a little tight for an actual 5 year old girl…that’s based on how it fits my 5 year old boy. I know boys run bigger…. :-)
10/24/10 - Collar and a little over 7 inches of the first sleeve are done and I finished up the third ball of yarn. I still need to find buttons.
10/23/10 - I’m done knitting the body. This jacket is beautiful. All the little details that went into designing it, shows. I love how all the cable crosses mirror each other…and it’s not even done yet. :-)
10/22/10 - I’m on the home stretch. I’m almost half way thru the knot cable chart.
10/21/10 - Finished thru Back chart row 63. I’m still on gauge!! Woot! I tried this on Ronan today and it’s a perfect fit for him. (He’s 5…meaning I’m on track for size). :-)
10/20/10 - Boy…was this slow going in the beginning. I’m now past the under arm join. These cables are beautiful! I love ‘em.
