Test knit.

I don’t have proper buttons yet. I had these Pedestal buttons but I don’t think they’re quite right. I just put them on for pics. My cowl looks like a totally different colorway…sigh. Other than that, this is a beautiful garment.

I did add some button holes at the bottom similar to LuckySlug.

10/17/2012 - Knitting is all done! Oh man…I’m worried this is going to be too short. I would have done one more repeat if I had more yarn. It’s blocking now. I need to pick out buttons (hopefully from stash) and sew them on. It’s hard to try on without buttons but so far…I LOVE it!

10/13/2012 - Acht! Got a late start on this test knit. I had originally ordered 5 skeins and then found out I needed 6. I found a skein in someone’s destash but I wanted to wait until it arrived to make sure the dye lot wasn’t too far off. Well guess what? It was totally different. That one skein was a lot lighter and had a lot of white in it. I decided to alternate the two dye lots. I’m so glad I did. The collar turned out to be a lot lighter than the body. The collar took 2 skeins. I’ll I’ve got are 24” needles for my size 15. It’s gonna be a tough knit until the longer needles arrive. I’ve almost halfway thru my 3rd cable repeat and I’ve 2 skeins left. I’m worried I may run out of yarn.
