SO IN LOVE WITH THIS!

This yarn was a special birthday gift from a friend. I ABSOLUTELY love it! I didn’t want to make socks because I wanted to be able to see the yarn when wearing…so I made a hat. I know…the irony. At least everyone else can see the yarn. :-)

I wanted to make this hat opened ended to accommodate a bun. I run with my hair in a bun and generally a regular beanie won’t work with my hair like that.

I knit to 18” from ribbed brim. I had to use bits of left over fingering weight yarn to get to the 18”. Then I twisted the tube a little bit and seamed the live edge to the inside at the top of the 2 x 2 ribbing with a crochet slip stitch. I LOVE the end result!
