Notes

Although yarn label noted 20 st over 4 inches using a US 4, I got 28 stitches in stockingnett in the round. Was able to get 20 stitches using a US 6.

Cast on 96 stitches.

Finished collar and realized that I hadn’t read the pattern correctly. I knit a 1x1 rib instead of a 2x2 rib. Frogged.

Reknit the collar with the 2x2 rib. Went to put the raglan markers on and found I didn’t have enough stitches. I had miscounted and only had 86 stitches instead of 96. Also I felt the rib on US #4 metal Addi Turbo Lace needles was to loose. Frogged.

Reknit on Lykke driftwood US #3 needle. This time I had the correct rib pattern and number of stitches. Moral of the story, don’t start a project after working a full day at the yarn shop. rolling_on_the_floor_laughing

So now that I have about 8 inches of fabric, I gauge checked again. I’m getting 24 sts by 33 sts. So I am continuing the yoke until I reach the 3XL size, plus 4 additional rounds for a total of 368 sts. If the math maths, that should result in a bust size of 38 inches.

Ready to put sleeves off to side. 88 back stitches, 70; sleeve stitches.

Almost done with the body. The math mathed! Calculating the gauge for the thinner yarn seems to have worked out correctly. The brown Azalea top I’m using as an example size is a small. The Mellow Mood is lining up perfectly with it, even though it is a 3XL plus 2 additional rounds of increases.

Sleeves. Pickup up stitches per pattern instructions. Knit 10 rounds of stockingnette and 10 rounds of 2x2 rib.
