Making these for an almost 4-year-old, so adjusting the sizing in a few ways:

• CO 44 sts
• work ribbing over first 20 sts
• Sized down to a US 1
• 23 rounds for the cuff (about 2”)
• on first inc round, (k1,p1) x5, work inc, then work in pattern to end of round
• Inc thumb gusset until 15 sts between markers (14 sts increased)
• Next round, place all thumb sts on scrap yarn (cast on 1 st in the gap)
• Knit 5 rounds plain st st (1x1 rib maintained where it was previously)
• 4 rounds 1x1 rib all the way around, then BO in pattern

Thumb:

• CO 3 in back
• Knit 2 plain rounds, then 3 rounds 1x1 rib before BO in pattern.

Hoping that with these adjustments, they will fit his hands.

Use 21g of yarn for the pair. He adores them. The sweetest!
