This is a looooong term project that I keep at our cabin, and I make a few more squares every time we’re there.

Eventually, all these wonderful coloured squares will be turned into two blankets for my daughters.

The hope is that these blankets will follow them as they grow older, as a reminder of their childhood.

I’m making both blankets slightly larger than the original, so I’ll need 104 squares per blanket.

At the moment (Feb. 2012) I have about 40 squares.

10.04.12: Managed a few more squares over Easter, so got 55 now :-)

02.08.12: 100 squares :-)

12.10.12: After laying all the squares out on the floor and measuring, the kids and I agreed that 7 x 13 squares would be a good size. That means 91 squares per blanket, so I still need 78 more to have enough for two blankets, but I am happily plodding along with this project.

15.01.13: Have made the 78 squares, and a few more, so getting nearer to the end :-) Decided to add one more row to the width of both blankets since I have enough yarn. Only a few to go! :-)

01.02.13: Yay! I made it! 208 squares done - to make two blankets of 13 x 8 squares each.
On to fastening all the threads now…

We spent some days round Valentine’s day at our cabin, so fastened all the ends - 448 in total (My daughter decided to count them..)

Easter-2013: Crocheted together all the squares for one blanket into long strips and started crocheting the strips together. 5 done so far.

20th May-13: All squares for one blanket crocheted together. Only the edge left to do.

May-13: After a long hunt, finally found some purple yarn that I thought was bright enough to use instead of black for the second blanket. Wanted them a bit different so it’s easy to se which blanket belongs to whom. Crocheted together two strips to try, and decided I liked the colour. Will continue later.

19th august-13: Finished crocheting together all the squares for both blankets.

14/12-13: Startet the edge on first blanket. Mods: Round 4
Hoppet bare over 2 staver, dvs. 1 fm i hver 3 stav. 8 staver samlet istedenfor 10.
