Update feb.-17: FINALLY!
After taking forever to figure out how to transfer the pattern to the mitts in a nice and accurate way as possible, I got a tip from someone I found on a blog about drawing it on to a piece of tuille and then draw/dot through this on to the mitten. Worked great!
Needed some experience in this kind of embroidery, so finished some embroidery for my daughter’s national costume first.
So finally started embroidering.
It went remarkably well even if it was a bit fiddly, so my mum got these for her birthday. She was so happy with them :-)

Making these for my mum as she has athritis and can’t knit on such thin needles. She will do the embroidery herself.
A small thank you, as she many years ago embroidered my entire bunad.

Mods: Using a different yarn, cast on 66 st.
Knit to 7 cm before setting aside st. for thumb. Only cast on 13 new st for thumb.
Decreased 2 st twice, at row 15 and 17 after thumb.

Mitts are done but I’m waiting for the embroidery yarn that had to be ordered from the UK. Apparently it can take a couple months before I get the right colours, so guess I’ll just have to wait for now

Mum originally wanted to do the embroidery herself, but has found it will be too difficult with her hands now, so I will do it for her.
We’re still waiting for the embroidery yarn to arrive at the shop…
