Thank you to the brilliant blueruin for the gift of this pattern - I finally felt I had the right yarns to make it! <3

I made my bag based on a “factor” of 5 stitches instead of 6: so when it says 6 stitches/ridges I did 5, when it says 12 I did 10, when it says 18 I did 15, etc. It just felt like it was going to come out quite large otherwise :)

The top edge of the bag is tidied up with crochet in the Rare Yarns Rotoiti, using a 4.5mm hook:

• one round of sc on the right side
• one round through the front loops only, working from the back side

The straps are crocheted too, using a 4.5mm hook:

• 125 stitches of foundation hdc in the Rare Yarns Rotoiti
• 9 rows of sc in different colours (not matching between straps), working back and forth between wrong and right sides
• 1 row of hdc in the Rare Yarns Rotoiti

Then I sewed a lining out of some quilting fabric I had:

1. measured across the bag to figure out the diameter of the main tube
2. boxed the bottom corners to make it a square
3. measured up the sides to figure out how high the points and valleys would be
4. cut the top into shape and pressed the seam allowance to the inside
5. hand-sewed into the top of the bag
6. did a little “quilting” through the lining and knitted outer to support the weight of the bag
