To baby-size-ify the pattern I just removed one repeat of the chart, and used smaller needles (normally I go down one size, for this I went down two). Ended up more toddler size but that’s fine.

Knit with fingering weight yarn held double.

I improvised all the decreases because I wanted to follow the stitch pattern more closely than the pattern, and topped off with a teeny pompom using the last of my yarn.
