Even though I was mostly pregnant during the winter, I was still freezing. My feet especially were cold. Also, one of them was gigantic and swollen. For some reason, even though it takes me forever lately to knit anything, I had the brilliant idea to knit myself a pair of socks to accomodate my giant pregnant foot.
At least I was smart enough to do it in a yarn I wasn’t super sold on the colorway. The pattern says to do either three or four repeats depending on how long you want the sock and I figured that since I always have a ton of leftover yarn, I’d do the long one. Well, it was getting really stressful on the second sock and I didn’t think I’d have enough yarn. (I always think that) Also, working the wedge pattern on the other foot was great because my foot was really big and that pattern came out huge. I cut down a ton of stitches on the second sock and just knit it in stockinette, adding the garter toe at the end. It worked out great! I seriously had about six inches of yarn left when I was finished.
My husband was like, yeah, that yarn is definitely not you. But that’s okay, they’ll be nice socks to wear over other socks and they’re basically knee length anyways, so they’ll be super toasty for the future. Well, on the one foot I could probably wear two socks under them since it’s really baggy now… my foot went back to regular size. Yay.
