Using my gauge, which is slightly smaller than the pattern’s, I chose to knit size L.

The Channel Island cast on is new to me, but I love the look and stretchiness of it. Same with the beaded rib.

At first, I worried that my choice of yarn - Drops Baby Merino - wouldn’t be “fuzzy” enough for this sweater, but I think it will show off the stitch details quite well, and I love the plum color. Also, as I live in California with our mild winters, I tend to get overheated, so a fine merino wool is typically a good choice for me.

This is by far the most complex and challenging sweater I’ve knit so far in my short knitting career. fortunately, the pattern was written very clearly, and I like how the designer created this with absolutely no seaming, even “building in” the gussets and the faux side seams.

Overall pleased with the results, though it’s far from perfect. It is comfortable and fits well.
