After frogging once, and two abortive restarts, I started to lose hope. I wondered if the yarn didn’t like the pattern. Nonsense! The yarn just wanted white stitch markers, not gold. Once I obliged, it allowed me to knit this far.

Extra care taken in preserving the yarn-overs in the first and third pattern rounds, where they respectively end and begin each 14-stitch pattern repeat.

Use the charts, not the written instructions.

Day 2 of successful frog-free knitting got me through Row 8 of the second iteration of the pattern chart. Placed lifeline.

Finished 40 rows on size 7s (2.5 repeats), switched to size 6 needles.
51.5g left before first 8 rounds (9-16) on size 6s.
42.5g left after first 8 rounds on size 6s.
So, 9g per 8-round repeat (4mm/size 6 needles).

BO using lace bindoff and US8 needle. Now soaking, will block tomorrow.

This would’ve probably been done in a week if I’d worked non-stop. Need a pattern wallet or mini-chartkeeper so I can’t use portability as an excuse.
