Starting with 124g skein of my very own Tesseract in Foundry. A particularly bronze batch.

Instead of rolled stockinette hem, I knitted [yo, k2tog] for rnd 19, purled rnd 20, and added two more rows before p2tog BO:
Rnd 21: Purl
Rnd 22: Knit

Ended up with 25g leftover.

Blocked! Turned out a little larger than the schematic because the yarn grows when it’s wet.

Last and second-to-last photos show Shang Dynasty ritual bronze vessels, dated 1600-1200 B.C.E. The Taotie is a chimerical dragon-monster who eats people. A stylized representation of the creature was a popular decoration for food and cooking vessels, especially those used for strictly ritual purposes. The hope was that by placing the image of the Taotie on the vessel, the creature would satisfy its appetite with the contents of the pot. Voilà, save the humans. The first vessel is covered entirely with Taotie motifs.
