  • CO 101 using long-tail cast-on (US 4)
  • Sl1, k to last stitch, knit last stitch together w/first slipped stitch, place BOR marker. 100 sts.
  • Decided to go with long-tail vs. provisional cast-on because last time I knit this w/ provisional co, it turned out too big.

12-03-2022

  • Knit 15 rounds from CO— I prefer a slightly wider brim than the pattern as-written allows.
  • Purl turning round complete
  • Knit 16 rows

  • Went outside under full Cold Moon in Gemini.
  • Knit 9 stitches of hat-band — for the last 3 of these nine stitches, I held up the work towards the moon and encapsulated the moon within those 3 stitches.

  • Skein #1 ran out in Round 2 of the purl section of Repeat 10.
  • Skein #2 attached by Russian join.

12-25-2022

  • Knit 10 sections (90 rounds) plus one additional purl section (95 rounds).
  • Knit decrease rounds as directed. After *k2tog round, changed to US 4 needles and *k2tog one more round (12 sts) before threading bind-off.
  • Perfect fit. Hopefully will not grow when washed.
