Notes

3/15/10: I wound the yarn into a ball today. I was so thrilled about this pattern and this yarn that I had to get started right away. There was a correction to the original pattern, but, I have the corrected copy now. Cast on at 10 p.m. MST. It took me 20 minutes to get through the set up section. I want to be very careful and not make any mistakes. I have never done anything like this before, so, I am doubly excited. I also just realized that I am going to have to learn how to block a shawl. That is scary!

3/20/10: I frogged my piece. I started on the pattern section with written instructions and the work didn’t match the stitches. I read all the posts in this thread. Then, I made the decision to use the chart from here on out. Also, putting a lifeline with dental floss in this in case I need to frog back.

3/21/10: I cast on again and am through my first repeat of the chart. No problems now. Thank goodness! I really, really like how this yarn is coming together with this pattern. I love to keep touching it, too. LOL The second and third photo up from the bottom show the truer color of the yarn.
Stopping at row 13 on second repeat. This moves along quickly. This pattern is not difficult. Just had to work out the pattern corrections.

3/26/10: Been so busy with work that I haven’t had much time to work on this. I did a few rows today. Ended with repeat 6 row 4.

3/30/10: Started up again. Anxious to finish this. I really like the looks of this. I am going to have to buy a new outfit for this. LOL Finished 3rd round.

3/31/10: Started 4th round. It is taking much longer to get through rounds now. Duh! Since we are adding stitches. ;) I only got through row 10 today on the 4th round.

4/4/10: Finished the 4th round.

4/5/10: Started the 5th round. Left off at round 5 row 9.

4/6/10: Picked up where I left off and only got 4 more rows done.

4/7/10: Started again.

4/10/10: Picked this up again this morning and finished through round 6 row 8. It is so hard for me to keep knitting. I just want to wrap this around me and sit tight.

4/11/10: Started again and got through round 7 row 5. I am getting nervous. I am not sure I will have enough yarn to get through the last round.

4/12/10: I definitely won’t have enough yarn to get through 8 rounds. Will be ending at the end of round 7. I had about 25 yards left of yarn.

4/13/10: I got this blocked and photographed today. Seriously disappointed in the finished size. If yardage of my yarn was 540 and I used all but about 25 yards, then I need about double for my height and across my shoulders that are 40” across. Very pretty pattern and I love the yarn with it.
