I made one sample motif in the hook size suggested by the thread (H) and it was way too loose and holey. Dropped the hook size down and it worked much better so I’ve made 4 different motifs, trying to find the perfect color mix for my pincushion. I think I’ve hit on 2 I like so now I just need to figure out how I want to do the inside of the pincushion (something to keep the stuffing from coming out the small holes in the motif) and then make the sides and put it all together!

Took me a few tries to put this together… I had to shape the foam insert (which I made by stuffing a shape cut from an old pair of the husband’s boxers with fiberfill) which really gave it a firmer, less squishy shape. I still have two motifs left but I don’t need two pincushions so I’ll maybe use them for something else. I’m quite happy with this!
