Making an attempt at anatomical toes.

Was going to do a pattern on the sock. Forgot. Too nice to relaxingly knit stockinette in the round. Woot.

I feel that this yarn might be better done with a US0 but maybe I just think that because my last socks were done using double knitting and they felt very thick while being knit.

I got so much done today while driving around for errands (the husband drove, I rode). I passed where I should have started the gusset and had to rip back a bit. Oops. This sock is going so quickly!

16 Mar
I have turned both heels today. Three heels, actually. I didn’t like the interruption in the color change that occurred when knitting straight through so I did the heel using the other end of the yarn cake. Much happier!

Didn’t knit at all yesterday. My hands were too stiff. Ironic since knitting always helps loosen then but it was too painful to try, even with the potential benefit. Makes me sad cause I was thinking these might end up being super speedy socks but looks like they’ll be one week socks. Oh well, still not too shabby!

19 Mar
And now I have a horrible head cold. Oh well. At least I can knit most of the time. Just have the ribbing to do on these socks. Super speedy knit - I figured I did about 3” an hour so I’ll probably have just over 15 hours in these socks when I’m done.

21 Mar
A(nother) horrible head cold slowed these socks down dramatically but I finally got them done. I had 14g left so I totally could have gone higher with them but I overestimated how much yarn I’d need for the ribbing. I only used half of the 13g I saved for each sock. Still, I think they are pretty awesome. (And they fit great!)

CO 8 sts per needle.
Knit 1 round.
Increase every other round on both sides to 16 sts per needle.
Increase every other round on one side to 56 sts total.
Insert 4 sts gusset (2 on each side) starting 4 rounds before the heel.
Begin calf increases 7.5” after finishing the heel and decreasing out the gusset: K13, inc, K2, inc, K around.
Knit 11 rounds. Increase by 2 again.
Knit 4 rounds. Increase.
Knit 5 rounds. Increase.
Knit 4 rounds.
Switch to 2/2 ribbing for 35 rounds.
BO.
