Started this with 9’s, then 6’s, then finally buckled and went out and bought 8’s. I think I’m going to end up wishing I’d used a blockable yarn for this, but it’s coming out okay so far.

12/29/2011: Finished!

One entire skein of this yarn produced a ridiculously long scarf--something like 7 ft/2.1 m. It is quite beautiful, warm, and not scratchy, like I was afraid it would be. I am, however, absolutely sick of knitting it, especially since the last bit of the skein took forever to knit up.

Because the yarn isn’t blockable (nor is it a particularly interesting yarn in general), the coolness of the pattern isn’t fully visible, but it’s still nice.

It looks quite nice with my teal hat and persimmon treads Ellen made me.

’Tis not a colorless winter for me.
