Started last night and I’m trying to yarn under for a tighter stitch.

Elora saw my progress this morning and said “That is a nice Humpback whale I’ve seen. You can add the eyes?”

I’m currently on row 15 of the first section (top side of the whale). It by no means looks like a whale yet.

About to start the bottom of the whale using Bernat Maker home dec in cream.

Working on the eyes:
-using chenille yarn from my stash for the pupil - ch2, 5 sc into 2nd chain from the hook, slip st into first ch (pulling next color thru on the final stitch). Fatten off chenille yarn.
-using cream colored Bernat Maker Home dec - ch1, slip st

repeat till you reach the beginning and sleep st to the behind ch 1. Fasten off leaving enough length to use one of the cream to
sew on with last end/length of cream (outer) yarn. - use one of the ends of the cream to create a highlight/refection on the eye.

With future amigurumis I plan to make life easier by placing a stitch marker every x number of rows and making sure to read assembly before starting to make note and stitch marker where pieces attach.
