well, Phil (the hubby) suggested that I make myself a nice chunky cardi for popping on in the house when its dropped on a night - so im doing just that! I found this pattern in the database here, and am amending slightly (mainly because of limited wool supply, lol) so im shortening the bottom edge, losing the collar for something a little more understated and minimising the baggy-ness on the arms. Wish me luck!
Im a couple days in now, and ill be honest, when I first started this I was really unsure what I thought of it! Does anyone else do that? well, I am persevering and I actually quite like how its coming together now! There is hope! Ive done the back, the right side and im now working on the left. Its working up really quickly, because of the stitch, so a real good project for one of those instant fixes!
06/06/2014 - First problem found :-( I omitted a couple of rows on the bottom and I should have done one more row - when will I learn to count my rows!!!!! Oh well. The front left and the back left now have different bottom edgings - one facing inwards and one facing outwards. how annoying! Good job its only for me and not a gift.
12/06/2014 I have a cardigan! And I actually like how its looking! Its still not quite finished - ive still got my pesky tails to weave in and the pockets to make and add, but the skeleton of it is done - and it fits! Will uploads a pic of the finished product soon. :-)
13/06/2014 Its finished! Buttons added and everything. Only added one pocket (purely down to my depleting yarn, lol) but that’s ok. Its comfy, and looks good enough to chuck on when im around the house :-)
