Notes

Ive been asked to make some poppy bunting, so had a go at a basic standalone poppy last night.

I only had a 2.5 hook to hand, so that’s what I used - however I’m going to have a go with a 2.00 hook as I feel its just slightly on the large side.

The pattern is really simple. It was originally a cut out from a women’s magazine (sorry - I don’t know which one), which I’ve modified to give this finished look.
The poppy is made of 4 individual petals which are made using a slightly tweaked fan pattern, and sewn together in the middle.
I haven’t added a leaf or stalk, although this could be done quite easily if you wished.
Ive added a brooch back to this poppy, however im now going to make 12 poppies and bunting them up!

(I just love bunting!)

Just had a go with a 2.00 hook. It is as faffy as nothing I’ve ever known! Its gunna take me twice as long. I cant believe what a difference 0.5 makes! Im gunna stick with it though as the end result is much tight and structurally, the petals will hold their shape more.

06/10/2014 - Ive now done 8 poppies and have attached them to a green vine - and voila! Poppy Bunting! I love it!
