This is an interesting and seemingly easy pattern. I couldn’t even imagine all the pitfalls when I first started making this cardigan.
The waist shaping is done using different size needles plus increases/decreases. Three bottom parts are made separately and at some point are combined to create side vents and then separated again. In the pattern directions both vents are supposed to be knitted the same way which is wrong, in my opinion (see black and white photo). Unfortunately, I discovered it only when I finished, washed and blocked the body. I didn’t like it but didn’t want to unravel the whole thing (especially since it was my second attempt - I had to unravel the almost finished body before because I made a big mistake changing the lace pattern in the middle of the work). I managed to unravel just the row where the parts are combined, change the vent’s direction and sew it back.
About the lace pattern - tricky! Be careful! It is explained row by row but you can find a chart on page 81 (yet, I suspect, it is not exactly the same). Anyway, you’ve got to be very focused and pay attention all the time or you’ll be unraveling and reknitting it again and again like I did.
I used Cocoon for the first time. The pattern asks for 8 balls for size S. I used 7 and have some leftovers from a couple of balls.
