My gauge: 20 st x 26r = 4” x 4”
Knitting in rounds (hate seaming).
Might be a good pattern for machine knitting.
Used exactly 2 skeins for the body + sleeves. Need 3rd skein for collar.
Not the (almost) instant gratification project I thought it would be.
Can’t get the bottom edge to lay flat. Frogged & re-knit with 1 round of purl before starting the stockinette stitches.
Still curls. Frogged again. Re-knit bottom edging as k1p1 ribbing.
Modification:
Rows 1-13: knit
Row 14: purl (buttonhole/slit row)
Trying to avoid slits over nipples & elbows.
Slit position: Each slit = 12 st; 5 slits x 12 = 60 st
90 - 60 = 30
1st slit: p15, make slit (1 row button hole, 12 st)
2nd slit: p27, make slit
3rd slit: p39, make slit
4th slit: p51, make slit
5th slit: p63, make slit
Gotta knit the Christmas gifts 1st!
Resume knitting while waiting for Harmony Circulars to arrive from Knit Picks so I can finish Koolhaas or, I could finish/start my other Holiday knittings…
Forgot to do waist shaping! Frog back 4”.
Sleeves:
Frogged & CO46 - no flare at wrist.
Tried on sweater after attaching the sleeves:
- Oh no! shoulders too narrow! (crying)
- The chest area is now s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d out & a slit directly over my left breast!!! (blushing)
- Neckline = boat neck. Shouldn’t have finish the neckline before assembling the sweater. Will frog & re-knit.
Had lots of problems with neckline. Frogged & re-knit at least 3 times. Ended up with cowl neck with tubular bind off.
Lesson learned. Do NOT knit finishing trims before assembling the sweater. Sweater after seaming fits differently!
