I am a proud owner of a pair of Sou Sou Jika-Tabi shoes. These Japanese split-toe shoes are very comfortable for Berlin’s spring and summer. Since then, I knit split-toe socks so I can wear them, at home with flip-flops as well. This is my first pair of tabi socks, starting with two mini socks (for big toe and for the rest), joined and simply garter-stitch the whole way, short-row heel shaping and twisted ribs for the cuff.
Garter-stitch isn’t the best choice for under feet but it was my first attempt at socks.
