The purple poppy is for the animal victims of war, they are not heroes because they did not have a choice. Animal Aid used to produce a purple poppy yo represent this, for various reasons they no longer do this and have replaced it with an all year round purple paw. See here for more. We however would still like to wear the purple poppy because it connects with what remembrance Sunday is all about in our minds. We wear both a purple and red poppy alongside each other, they are both important and the animals shouldn’t be forgotten which sadly most seem to forget.

For these purple poppies we have made a donation to Animal Aid.

To make one poppy I used 2g of purple for the flower and 1g of green for the leaf.

Made 3 of these poppies in total, one for hubby and I and one for a friend.
