Notes

This has been one of my favourite patterns, (and a favourite for many others too, I might add). I discovered it when Susan, the knitter and modeler of these two Misti Alpaca versions of the Babushka, happened to be wearing one of them on a visit to the Beehive. I have since made four, either for myself or as gifts. It is such a versatile wrap, with a construction method that keeps the knitter engaged. The main triangle is made in seed-stitch starting at the tip of the triangle, increasing on your way to the top rolled edge. The ruffled edges are done in two parts. As I look at these images, having just handled them, I imagine making another Babushka in a deep tonal or solid shade for this new Fall/Winter season.
