This t-shirt is the perfect canvas for the softly variegated colours of Stratus, the first yarn that we are releasing under our own Beehive Wool Shop label. The finished garment is light and fuzzy but with an excellent balance of structure and drape. The pale core and jewel-toned halo make the finished garment appear to glow.

The pattern offers so many opportunities to customize the shape and style. We chose the sleeveless vest version with a high-low, hip-length hem and without any additional bust shaping. In the end, we used less yarn than suggested in the pattern, so we had most of a third skein leftover that could be used for sleeves, pockets, or additional length.

Our sample used just a bit more than two skeins of Beehive Wool Shop Stratus in Olympic Sky. Because of the tonal variation in this hand-dyed yarn, we alternated skeins throughout the body of the sweater by knitting with one skein and carrying the other up the side. You can see what this alternation looks like on the inside of the garment in the last photo.
