Kiyomi Burgin—and her twin sister Sachiko—are fantastic Canadian designers whose work often mixes vintage techniques and modern style. This hat uses the classic fairisle pine tree motif to create a small forest for you to wear hiking in the woods or strolling downtown. Top it with a cheerful pompom for maximum whimsy.

Our sample used two colours of Gathering Yarn Brook Farm Fingering, half of a 100g skein in Navy and two thirds of a 25g ball in white. For the contrast edging and pompom we used roughly 15g of leftover blue Geilsk Tynd Uld (mostly for the pompom)
