Notes

We fell so in love with the colours that thepetiteknitter used for her Midnattsol Hat that we decided to use the same ones. This hat is squishy and oh-so-delightful to wear. It isn’t for the brand new colourwork knitter (unless you’re feeling adventurous) as it uses 3 colours at a time.

We made the following changes for our project:

  • The needles we used for this sample yielded a dense, small size hat. For a larger size you could easily increase the needle sized used. Geilsk Tyk Uld could easily sustain a gauge as loose as 24 sts/10cm in this project
  • To use only 1 ball of the Black we opted to do a singled brim for 6cm/2.25” instead of the doubled brim
  • When finishing the hat our knitter opted to do one final round of k2tog & pull the tail through remaining stitches instead of the kitchener stitch.

You can see our full selection of Geilsk Tyk Uld on our website to make your own beautiful hat (and be sure to take a peek at the Rose and Purl Pom Poms!)
