This architecture-inspired scarf and its graphic blocks of colour and texture make for an interesting knit and a stunning accessory. Rapson would be a suitable introduction to intarsia knitting with only straight lines and simple blocks to contend with.

Our sample used five balls of Sandnes Garn Perfect in Heather Grey for the main colour and one ball each of Tapenade, Golden Brown, Charcoal, Deep Petrol, and Dark Blue for the colour blocks. We had some yarn leftover in every colour and used roughly 650m in total.

To ensure even stitches at the colour joins, we suggest purling the first stitch of the new colour on the wrong side of the work by wrapping the yarn clockwise around the needle, pulling snugly, and then knitting this stitch through the back loop on the right side of the work.
