I am inspired to do Susie’s Reading Mitts by my friend inansa, who has done two pairs, both in a soft natural white. This is an easy pattern, and they are very pretty with the picot edge at the top and bottom of the fingerless gloves. I chose to use a slightly smaller needle, since I thought the mitt would look better knit more tightly with alpaca. I also followed inansa’s notes starting with a provisional cast on. Her notes are excellent. The only thing I might change on a future pair would be to decrease a few stitches (perhaps 2-3) before doing the lace pattern and picot edge at the end of the glove. One Reading Mitt is 32 grams, so a set can be done with two 50 gram balls of yarn.

I’m not a big nail polish wearer, but I like this colour… ‘Skyfall’ from OPI, which is an ode to 007! The movie was great, by the way.
