Notes

Purchased this as a kit from knitcrate.com. I have terrible cramping every month, and I’ve heard good things about heat therapy with hot water bottles. I decided to give this a try.

5/22/14: received my kit today, which consists of the 2.0 liter Fashy brand water bottle, as well as both skeins of Artesano Aran yarn in color “Calder,” which ravelry calls Turquoise. Love the yarn! It’s squishy, soft, and the color is vibrant and gorgeous. The pattern is supplied as a download on knitcrate’s site, which I accessed with no issues. The pattern itself appears clearly written, and I can’t wait to start casting on!

4/22/15: Picked this up again last night, and have gotten mostly through the cabling section of the first side. Going fast. I forgot how much I love this yarn! It’s so nice to work with…

4/23/15: Finished the front piece. Used 78g of the yarn, and it’s approximately 20.25 inches long (unblocked). I got 7 cable twists in the cabling section, and I counted the increase rows as part of the 7 rows at the end of the cabled section. I had to do an eighth row to be sure to end on a wrong side, then did the four knit rows and did a simple knit bind off. The cabled section is about 11 inches, not counting the garter ridges on either end. Cast on for the back side, which is just seed stitch the whole way.

4/24/15: All done but the seaming. I haaaaate seaming…ugh

4/27/15: Whipstitched the two sides together, wrong sides facing. Then turned right-side out and mattress-stitched the rest together. Fits like a dream! I think it needs a button or something to hold the flap closed. Otherwise, I think it looks lovely, and it’s super squishy, even without being filled with water. What a great project!
