I tried the first one (yellow) in BLO of Rounds 3,4,5, but decided it’s too fiddly.

The second one I made (also yellow), I skipped Round 4, but I like the regular size better.

I plan to make 6 sets of 6 for the market. If I could get the Joann’s app to work, I’d order the orange I need. UPDATE: I just went to the store to pick it up. Never could get the app to work.

Following are my changes / modifications / edits / adjustments / suggestions:

• Replace DC with HDC
• Finish each round working in the join stitch either by inserting a stitch or doing a HDC2tog in the last stitch and the join stitch.
• Ch 2 instead of Ch 3 at beginning of each round.
• On previous balloons, I did BLO in round 7, but decided this time it wasn’t necessary.
• I didn’t do the magic ring because it keeps getting stuck and breaking. Instead I did a loose slst, chained two, then treated the slst as the magic ring. So much happier with that method with this yarn.

Ch 2.
R1 HDC 8 in first ch, join.
R2 HDC 16, join. Knot and work in beginning tail.
R3-4 HDC 16, join
R5 HDCdec 8 times (8), join
R6 HDCdec 4 times (4), join
R7 2sc around (8), join, cut leaving 6-8” tail. Weave tail through to come out between R6 and R7. Wrap around 2-3 times to cinch, tie, fasten off, and weave in tail.

Originally I did R7 in the blo, but I don’t think that’s necessary since I’m trying the end around that section.

With my adjustments, I only used ~12 yards per balloon (i.e., ~.54 oz)

5/6/24 As of this morning, I can make a complete balloon in 12 minutes. Also, I have 28 of the 36 done.

5/7/24 ALL DONE. Praise the Lord. I’m so bored with these. I still need to package them, but I did edit the tag to be more like my others. Need to print, cut, punch, and attach those.
