After trying out 3 different patterns, this is the one I came back to. This time I didn’t create the bend in the pickle just to see what that would be like.

This is a super bulky yarn that acts like a worsted weight. It’s thin. I tried different hooks and went down to a 4.5mm and also did YUYO to minimize the holey-ness. Next, if I used this yarn again, I will use two strands together.

6mm eyes
___oz (finished weight with stuffing)
Black yarn, not embroidery thread.

Final thoughts:
Turns out I like the bend in the pickles, and I like thicker, more plush yarn.
