These work up so fast and the pattern is so incredibly easy to remember. UPDATE: from about 15 minutes each down to 8 minutes, start to finish.
Instead of slst’g to join the last st when finishing off, I use the invisible join method and pull tight. The stitch almost disappears and pulls that point in to match the other petals.
A trick I’m using is to catch the beginning tail from the MC under the join after the first round. I pull the tail tight to close the circle, then trap it under the join. Then I tie a little knot with the tail and working yarn. Then I work over the tail and also work the tail through some sts. Saves me from having to sew it in later.
So far I’ve used Lily Sugar N Cream and Crafter’s Secret because they’re a little rougher. It’s hard to get the ends to stay in with softer yarns like I Love This Cotton.
The designer says she crochets tightly and her’s measure 3.25” across. I don’t crochet tightly (anymore), and that’s exactly what mine are.
Each needs ~9.6 yards of Crafter’s Secret or Sugar N Cream.
