Notes
  • I used 3.5mm (not 4.5) and YUYO to meet gauge. The 4.5mm and the 4mm hooks both created ~ 4 1/2” squares. 3.5mm was just under that, so I used YUYO and got it down to 4”. I also adjusted the ch2 in the corners of Round 3 to only ch1. I kept the ch2 in the corners of Round 4.
  • To join the 7 squares, I used the mattress stitch. I’ll have to remember to leave a long tail (~8”) next time, because the normal tail was barely long enough.
  • For the body, I did 37 rows of sc with 3.5mm hook (not YUYO), down to 21 sts, ~ 5 1/2” across. Maybe for the body I could have used a slightly larger hook.
  • Another note for next time and what I’d do differently is use I Love This Cotton, not Lily Sugar n Cream, for a softer, more flowy fabric. LSnC is thick and rough and heavy and stiff.
  • fabric ONLY measurements: 29” across the bottom, 5 1/2” across the shortest part (base of straps at top), and 14” from neck to hemline.

5/27/20 Done through part 2.

Well, I had big plans to create more of a back with extra granny squares, but decided that was just for me and I’ll never wear it, so I did the straps as written.
