Didn’t bother with gauge, and I regretted it. My beginning chainless foundation hdc row of 78 stitches measured 20”, which was perfect. Problem is it grew at least 2”.

I frogged it back to 70 stitches so it measures about 18” on the foundation row and 20” when finished.

I added a row of sc at the end for height and so both the top and bottom sides look the same.

Finished weight: 1.6 oz yarn
Finished size: 9 1/4” wide x 5” tall.
