LOVE these baskets, not just because they’re so cool, but because they don’t take too long and I’m diminishing my massive yarn scraps.
* 4 strands of worsted weight #4 yarn held together throughout. Since I have so much of each color, I decided (after the first one) to plan them a little more than simply making them scrappy. I went for an ombre look, starting with darker shades and moving to lighter. What I have to remember is to start with a color I have a lot of since it has to cover the whole bottom and at least start up the side for the best look.

One modification I made to the pattern was to slst around the first row of the sides in the BLO, and then sc into that same BLO st around/including the slst. That just stabilizes the base a little better, and I like the ridge it creates by using the BLO.

The pattern says to have two more rows after the chain row for the handles. I only did one more and felt that was plenty. Another one would have made the handle too bulky for these baskets.
