I thought I might try to do things a bit differently. Not sure I’m super happy with this method, but I’m giving it a shot -- the plan is to make the baskets in part until I have all the colors that I sell, then finish them either as they get ordered or once I have one of each color. I have stopped with the colors when I get to the point where they can hold the yarns I’ll use to finish it.
Right now it just feels like a mess, but maybe I’ll be happy when I get an order.
As of today 2/22/24, after starting this project on Saturday 2/17/24, I have yellow, pink, and ivory started as well as Alex’s birthday basket completely finished and a smaller brown one for me started (that one was supposed to be Alex’s, but I realized too late I’d worked 9 rounds for the base instead of just 7).
2/23/24
As of this morning, I have two more baskets done, the pink and the ivory. They still need tags and labels, but all ends have been hidden.
2/27/24 All done except for QMC tag
Weights:
Pink: 14.96 oz
Ivory: 14.69 oz
Yellow: 17.98 oz
Brown (small): 11.56 oz
Final thoughts
I don’t really like this way of doing them, starting each one and then putting them aside to work on the next one. There’s no real benefit, unless I happen to get an order during that process and the mess of it makes me a little wonky. Plus I have to reorganize the yarns again and remember where I was if it’s not obvious.
