Comparing it as I go to a previously made sweater that fits well. Still taking me a long time to figure out all the modifications I need to make, even though the designer really did do a good job writing out the pattern.
On the first sleeve, I stopped increasing after Row 17 and repeated the rounds until sleeves were 18” (26 rows, 13 stripes) and 14 pairs of dc at the top.
For the Body, I decided it should be 54” wide (i.e., from front bottom to back bottom), so I added a few rows between the shoulder and neck and then the neck and shoulder.
I went rogue by chaining different amounts of sts for the front and back, thinking I was clever and the back would be just slightly longer than the front. It wasn’t clever. It caused panic when it came time to join and add the trim on the bottom edge.
What would have made the process easier for me was if I’d numbered the sections from 1-17 and 1-10, e.g., instead of counting the rows from 1-63. I just kept getting confused.
Besides making changes for my personal preferences, there are a couple of errors. Row 10 says “join yarn in ch 2 sp after the 11st pair of dcs.” I think it’s supposed to be the 11th pair, but Raveler russ95 says it should be joined after the 21st stitch.

It really was a torturous project for me because I wanted the sleeves to be longer, the back to be longer than the front, and because I changed the color after every two rows. I love how it turned out, though, so I’m glad I stuck with it.
Measurements
Flat, before seaming:
58” from end of one sleeve to end of other
48” from bottom of front to bottom of back
Before work, I hdc’d around the neck with a 6mm hook (it’s already kind of small, so I didn’t use the 5.5mm as directed) and hdc’d around the wrists with a 5.5mm hook.
I’m not sure how I’ll work around the bottom, or if it can even be worked around since I made the back a little longer than the front. Wish I hadn’t done it that way. I could have added length to the back afterward if I’d still wanted.

I’ve finished with all the edging, at least I think I have. I didn’t weave in ends yet in case I change my mind. I decreased around the wrist because it seemed to flare out as written.
I worked on and frogged the bottom a few times before I decided on how to crochet around it. I ended up using a 4.5mm hook, because the 6mm and even the 5.5mm seemed too big.
I don’t love how the bottom edging has worked out because I did my own thing. I really should have stuck with the pattern, although I definitely wanted longer sleeves than I would have gotten just following the pattern.
