Instructions aren’t well-written. There might be some misprints in the pattern or something.

Where it says:
“5th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. *Sl st in same ch-7 sp as last sl st.”
I made Sl st in cluster.

In the 6th rnd I made 1 hdc in tr instead of 1 tr in tr.

I did not break the yarn and started 7th rnd with Sl sts in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th hdc (in back loops only),
ch3, 1 dc in each of next 2 hdc.
Then followed pattern instructions starting after the words “Miss next 6 hdc. 1 dc in each of next 3 hdc.”.

I really love the result!
