A very cool project! This was really fast and easy and it was a lot of fun.

I strongly recommend using Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off for the shawl collar, to make sure you have enough spring to allow the collar/neckline to relax open.

I used a thinner yarn (DK rather than Aran), and made size Small, and it still has plenty of ease. The lace has a lot of give, so I would suggest, if you’re between sizes, size down.

Also, take the time to fix any mistakes or fudging or slouchy buttonholes when you’re working the collar: errors are really noticeable in the finished job.
