July, 5, 2010…I have the yarn! I chose the colors from Red Heart Super Saver yarns I already had a 1 lb skein of black, so I only purchased 2 skeins of black…they have no-dye-lot skeins, so if I need more I can pick up some later. I also used a 40 % off coupon at Hobby Lobby. It can be only used on one item per person, If you bring your family & print a coupon for each person, you can check out separately and use more coupons. (I decided it was too much trouble so I used mine on one skein.)
Now I’m off to make a gauge swatch!
July 9, 2010…I have the first 4 rounds done on all of my motifs, & round 5 done on half! This is going much faster than I thought. The most difficult thing for me is determining what loop to make my tr in without making the stitch look slanted. I should have pulled the sl st up tighter on round 1.
July 12,2010… Only 3 more motifs to go on round 7…I can really see the stained glass design forming! Love this pattern!
August 18,2010…After putting this down a while to do other projects, I’ve picked it back up and completed round 9 & part of 10.
October 23, 2010…This project has been on hold for other projects. Hopefully I can finish this before their March wedding!
Jan 24, 2011…I’ve picked this project up again. I discovered some minor errata that is not included on the Annie’s website… Round 11 should begin with join in loop AFTER (to the left of) the join. Mine came out off-kilter and this fixed it… The group of 7 sc should have the 4th st in the dc that is between the black posts.
Jan 26, 2011… Just finished rounds 12 and 13! The next step is the corner motifs. Love how it’s looking! :)
Jan 31, 2011… Finished the corner motifs and have the border rounds 1 & 2 finished on about half of the squares. The hook is in the photo of the border round 1 photo because you do not break the yarn there.
Feb 4, 2011…I had to get more black yarn but I had some in another project…Thank Goodness that Red Hear has no dye lot!
I finished the squares and am assembling them. I’m doing a continuous join with the sc, ch- 1 (sl st) join. When I make the sl st, I remove my hook and insert it back to front under the chain, the same way as in the flat braid join.
Feb 5, 2011… The piecing is done! now to add the outer border…almost done! :)
10:15 PM… Finished!!!
