Using a custom pattern from

The yoke looked too small but thankfully I joined the Zoom call with Frank and he assured me this it will be fine.

I started the first brown 3-row stripe but have stripe 5 I began to worry I would have enough green yarn. I had phone call with Kelly (1hundredproject) and decided to use the Fibonacci sequence for stripes (1,2,3,5,8,13…) with 6 rows of green separating the stripes. I have included a photo of my stripe sequence.

Ben tried on the sweater and my concerns were confirmed…the sweater is way too small.

3/14 I remembered I have a copy of Karen Alfke’s Unpatterns for Top Down Raglan Pullovers. I did the math yesterday and cast on this morning. So far, so good.

5/28 Too big through chest. May rip back and increase fewer stitches for the body. Pattern led me to believe I needed 176 stitches for both the front and back went I really needed 176 total stitch for front and back together! Super frustrated so sweater is banished to closet until I regroup.

10/29 Ripped out knitting for the third time back to yoke. Picking up stitched and trying to put stitcher markers back into place.

11/14 Finished yoke and joined body under arms. Fingers crossed I’m back on track. If not, this sweater is going in the garbage!

11/24 Ben tried on sweater and it needs to be longer. Added one more brown stipe consisting of 21 row. One row of stockinette in green and then 14 rows of 1/1 rib in green.

12/16 Knit both sleeves to cuff. Had Ben try before finishing cuff. Sleeves too tight from elbow to wrist. The pattern math did not work and I feel like screaming! I hate this pattern! Couldn’t face dealing with it so took dog for a long walk in the woods to clear my head.

12/28 Summoned the energy to rip both sleeves back to elbow and reknit decreasing every 10th row instead of every 5th. Ben tried it on and the first sleeve fit perfectly so was able to finished second sleeve.

1/3/23 FINISHED!!! Had four days at the beach and was able finished the second sleeve. I feel a weight has been lifted off me.
