using #1 Signature DPNs from Amy!

gauge is 32.5 sts/4 in

in the past I have been losing about 2 std in gauge after blocking so predicted blocked gauge is 30.5 sts/4 in

Micah’s foot circumference is 9.45 in (10% less is 8.5 in)
Micah’s foot length is 10.4 in (10% less is 9.36 in)
Micah’s leg circumference is 9.6 in (10% less is 8.6 in)

foot and leg circumference is about equal, yay!
for the sock circumference I need 65 sts (64 should be fine)

I’m going to knit these toe up using the Socks a la Carte book…
fot the foot I will use Judy’s Magic Cast On and the Standard Toe with Afterthought Heel; stockinette body; Back to Basics cuff (k1p1 rib)

In order to start the toe, I knitted the first row just to establish the CO…then I did all the M1 sts by knitting into front and back of the stitch instead of attempting a M1L or M1R

For the cuff I started with a full row of black to conceal the purl bumps. Then I knit a k2P2 cuff.

After having him try on the first sock I discovered I made them way too short! What seems like a good length on my foot looks more like ankle-length on his. I ripped out the cuff and added about 6 more stripes of length.

The final product could have fit a little better. The foot length was a tad bit short and the heel was too shallow.
